got back late last night, what a beautiful state. Highly recommended visiting there if u haven't already, mother nature's work at its finest. We started in Canyon & worked our way down to Phoenix Zoo.
Petrified Forest & hiking the many trailheads. Didn't get to wet a line or hook up w Big A for a coffee as I was probably in his backyard

Nice pics Al, glad you had a great time.
Have been several times. Never gets old.
A float trip through the canyon is on my list, but at 73 I may not get to check it off. Wife won’t go, and friends want to go until it’s time to pull the trigger.
Nice pics, thanks for sharing! On my bucket list, for sure!

I can see how it would never get old, such beautiful scenery, as far as the float trip...the river wasn't flowing so well. Az in a drought for a few years now.
Can definitely see me visiting again

highly recommend it OJ,we went early so we ran into snow the first 3 days there. Locals say after mid Jan the Temps start to come up
Glad you got to see our state, especially the Grand Canyon !
You're right - if you were in
Scottsdale, you were probably
no more than 15-30 min away !
There IS a lot to see - I was here
nearly 10 years my first time and
saw all our major (inland) lakes, the Canyon and the Barringer meteor crater ! Also got as far as Alpine and got to fish some in the White Mts.!
Plan on seeing/doing more in the
near future ! Glad you had a nice trip !
Sounds like an awesome trip Al. The countryside out there is mindblowing. Thanks for the beautiful pictures.

I would strongly recommend taking the float trip down the Colorado through the Grand Canyon. If time permits and also money, book the 14 day trip instead of one of the 7 day trips. If you do have to book the 7 day trip, the second half is a little more exciting, with more white water, but either is great. With the 14 day trip, you get to avoid hiking from the rim all the way down to the river or vise versa. I did this with my wife, my younger son, and his wife in 2014. I was 65 at the time and there was a 70+member that joined us half way. He had a blast and was not in any discomfort whatsoever. Every day, we were met with a completely different view of the canyon, with many side excursions to visit sites that are generally inaccessible. The equipment was first class and the food was enexpectedly great, including a ribeye steak dinner more than midway on the trip. Peeing was always to be done in the river, which was really cold in the beginning of the trip. but each day brought a little warming to the water. Taking a dump was a real pleasure, sitting on the portable throne facing the majestic walls of the Grand Canyon. The spots fill up really quickly, but if the chance arises for any of you, jump at it. You will never regret it. Safe travels and tight lines all!
