"The governor of Oregon is, actually a citizen of California with a secondary address is(sic) Oregon......"

Oh Catfish H****r.... you DO know how to make me chuckle each morning, don't you ? ........hehehe.

BTW all you folks who might take ridiculous, unfounded scuttlebutt as fact...... the Honorable Governor Kate Brown has been in politics in Oregon since becoming a State Representative in 1991 and was practicing Family Law and teaching IN OREGON prior to that....went to Lewis & Clark (in Oregon) law school.

Once again.... gotta watch where you step, CH, we don't want you to track "anything" into any house BUT YOUR OWN, please. Thanks.

....but she's in lock step with the governor of the people's republic of California. Or maybe he's just trying to keep up with her!

My canoeing experience tells me that if you lean too far to the left OR too far to the right, you'll capsize!
Maybe canoeing experience should be required of all politicians?

Great idea. We haven’t seen a balanced middle ground for many years.

The people in this administration have no interest in helping the average citizen. We went from energy independent with low gas prices to a swipe of the pen putting us at mercy of OPEC----AGAIN. And which segment of society is now suffering the most---the wealthy or the poorer people on the economic ladder? Logic and common sense provide the obvious answer. And does one want to add an additional lunacy layer---get rid of gasoline engines before a fully functioning alternative is in place. We saw what happened on I95 in Virginia. Imagine if all these vehicles were electric. Since couldn't bring a gas container to get you through, how are all the cars put back on the road?

Here is the problems I see will all electric cars for the public.
1) you have to buy and have installed a charging station on your house.
About $700 to buy it and then you have to have it installed.
2) The current electric grids will NOT be able to handle the increased load.
Calif has already had rolling Blackouts for years in the summer due to AC being used by almost all.
3) Part of the problem with the Electric companies and the starting of wild fires has been due to NOT being able to access and clear the access roads and brush removal, by the home owners and local Gov.
Then everyone blames the Electric companies for not maintaining their equipment.
Not saying the companies have "Clean Hands", but there are reasons besides just wanting to make more profit.
Therefore when the Grids fail do to more loading than the grids can handle, who will they blame?
Not the EPA or the Politicians, but the Electric companies. Again IMO
Don't believe it? Look at the winter storm back in Texas last year. The Grid failed and they had no AC for days.
It had happened 10 years before and the equipment was NOT upgraded. The only way I can see that fixed is to convict all the Board members and officers of the Electric company then and now for involuntary manslaughter.
Again IMO. Prison Time for not spending money to fix the problem, Profit over lives

Next are the Electric motors Brush less or using brushes like generators? Brushes wear out in about 3 years, in my experience. The batteries also have load resistors that wear out. A friend of mine found out the to replace the battery pack in his Hybrid would cost about $3000. He looked at the battery pack and saw the resistors had burned. So he bought new resistors and removed the old ones and soldered in the new ones himself. Yes he knew how to solder with an iron and rossen core solder. He had 20+ years experience in electronics repairing computers and printers.

There are even more problems, Digger. Out here in the People's Republic of California, PG&E has to fight it out in court every time they need to remove any trees to keep them off their lines. Yet it's still PG&E's fault when a tree falls on the line.

Worse yet and more direct to your point about the overloaded grid: Our genius leaders won't allow any new dams for hydroelectric, no nuclear plants, and of course burning coal or natural gas is bad, so we can't have any new generating plants like that! Further, the incentives to install photovoltaic solar panels on your house are disappearing. So, no new sources of energy yet the demand is increasing exponentially.

I have an opinion about politicians, but to stay out of the attic I'll just leave a reference. Look up Ecclesiastes 10:2 in the New American Standard Bible. That expresses my opinion!

We have a good friend here with an electric SUV. She h**es it and found out the depreciation is phenomenal when she went to try trade it in with 3500 miles on it 4 months after she bought it. She was told it has a 400 mile range on a charge. Turns out that’s on flat ground, no wind an 70degrees or warmer. She gets about 260 miles out of a full charge here. She paid over $40,000.00 for it new and it’s worth $23,000.00 on a trade. She’s now had it for about a year and he batteries are at about half on their life span. $7000.00 to replace them. She was told they were good for 7 years. What they didn’t tell her is her charging system, at home, was going to require a major upgrade to her power t***sformer and that within those 7 years the batteries would be at a place near the end they would need charging about every 160 miles. She nows those batteries are going to be, completely, shot in another year. Given that she I going to be spending $7000.00 every two years for batteries, alone, to live in this type of an environment. Not to mention it doesn’t have enough power to get out of its own way. She doesn’t drive it in the winter because the heater drains her batteries faster. She said “this thing costs me over double what my F-350 costs to drive and my F-350 didn’t care about the weather or the hills”.

Well maybe she can trade it in for a Dodge Ram or Chevy as Ford has gone total Electric. The "Powers thtt be" don't care about the "Little People's" money problems. They never have IMO. They don't seem to like the Middle Class, as they have less good thought about the Politicians. Again IMO. But that's a whole different story.

Needed to fill up today and the second cartoon is so true. If prices keep going up, it will be a $100 bill for a tank of gas and I live in Oklahoma where gas prices are better than most states.

I'm in Arizona, driving a 2005 Trailblazer (Straight-6) - this
time last year it cost me
between $45/$50 to fill it from
just below the 1/4 mark - now
it's closer to $75/$80 !
THANKS, JOE !

Barnacles. I’ve been preaching the same story. Take out the dams to save Salmon while you increase the demand for electricity 10 fold. Biden say’s he wants to build nuclear plants. Okay, does anyone besides me remember Chernobyl.

The warranty on Electric Car Electrical system is 10 years and usually 100,000 miles. In Oregon they have to honor the warranty. A few states the Manufacturers do NOT have to warranty the batteries etc .

I’m not 100% for Electric Cars and I really do NOT believe all the manufacturers when they say they will only make electric cars by such and such date. They will not say Volvo on the hood and steering wheel for example but Volvo investors and Motor Companies will make a Diesel of Gasoline brand that is called a different name.

I am pretty sure the majority of all the electric vehicles are inductive ( brushless) . Inductive is old technology anymore. The controllers are where all the moving electronic parts are located.
