Looked like a good time to head for Florida. Waited a day to avoid the tornadoes. Got caught in a snowstorm instead. Nothing like 8 inches of snow in the south. No plowing. No 4 wheel drive. Stuck on I95 for hours. Managed to get off but it was even worse. The ruts on the road were frozen. Was like driving in mud. My all wheel drive handled it but there was no place to go. Got back on 95. More hours.
Read through everything on the internet. Ate the snacks. My bride caught me looking at her laughed and said good idea but it ain’t happening. I’ll give her a few more hours….maybe she’ll change her mind.

Yikes! So are you still "stuck" in traffic out there? I hope that you can make it home or to some overnight lodging ASAP!

Yup. Motels full. Maybe we can find an all night diner. Ready to turn around.

Hmmm...You probably already had your evening's destination in mind but it is too much farther South. I suspect that your weather "apps" might indicate where the Southerly edge of the system passed through? Maybe there are clear roads ahead? Dog gone... an all night diner sounds very welcoming right now if there is a chance.

Said a prayer for you and I hope things work out tonight!

I just checked some black & white infra-red imagery of the precipitation that moved across Virginia and the Carolinas. Based on air temps, it looks like it came down as snow in NC as well as VA. Not sure about South Carolina.

Got a niece in Virginia and she said they have trees coming down all over. They lost the deck on the house and another is laying on her car. I think if you can find somewhere open, it might be a good idea to lay up for a while

Definitely. Should have been in South Carolina by now. Got to get off and get away from the crowd. Everyone has the same idea.

Mau you picked a he!! of a day to run down the East Coast. You can always hit a truck stop for a nap and a meal. Let us know when you arrive safely at your destination. Be careful buddy.

Thanks Fred. Never experienced anything like this. I’m usually patient but no excuse for this. Well there’s one thing Ct does right. Snow removal
