New sunglasses

Looking to get some new sunglasses and was wondering if anyone here has experience with Oakley shallow water and deep water lenses. I fish primarily out of a kayak in smaller streams and rivers but do some occasional lake fishing as well. Wondering how they compare it one another and anyones personal experience with them.

Even a cheap pair of polarized glasses are better than nothing. If you’re going to spend the extra money for a top brand I suggest glass lenses but they will sink so be sure and get a good lanyard for them as well.

I've used some Oakley. Not the pair you mentioned. I use three colors of lenses in the day gray for clear water sight fishing brown for stained water. Amber for muddy water on cloudy days only as they add 15% more light. Your eyes will hurt if you use this color of lens on a sunny y. But for me alas my vision is not what it used to be so now it's prescription lenses so everything is special order. I've had no problems with Oakley.

Grey or green are the best lenses to wear for all around glasses. Definitely polarized lenses are the way to go. I have had good luck with Maui Jims sunglasses. Get the glasses that fit your face and do not gap a lot anywhere around your eyes if possible. I do not think you want glass lenses when sport fishing. They scratch easily even with scratch resistance. I believe they are an unneeded extra expense. Get a good floating lanyard for your glasses always keep them around your neck if not wearing them and they will not get damaged or lost in the water. I think it is more the glare off the water that can make your day hard. You can be blind as is a friend and catch a fish. It is all about the feel in the line. I like dark lenses as I said grey or green. I get the ones that you cannot see your eyeballs in the mirror as you try them on. Yes some lenses are more useable for fishing and darker tinted than others . Try on a lot of glasses if possible as well as you will find out what you like best this way. Then you will know what you like for the future too no matter what brand. Then buy them online if you want a better price.

Fishing from a Kayak puts you close to the water so I would definitely go with grey or green lenses. Polarized and maybe a wrap around like Pelagic or Oakley has as well. I know Maui Jims work for me but you will be wearing these. I like I said try on a lot and get it right. Glare will kill your will to fish if you do not choose wisely.

I am currently on my 2nd and 3d pair of Oakleys. They do have a tint that is designed specifically for fishing which I've had very good luck with.
The down side of Maui Jim in my experience is the hinge. I had two pair and the hinge gave way on both. That may have been that special model.
