If I have a yellow and white jig can the trailer be solid yellow or white or do I need a combined trailer?

Close your eyes, reach in and grab one, then change them if you do not get bit. Also you can try a dark trailer with a bright bait and vice-versa.

Best color is the $25k question.
I’ve outfished partner 5 to one and have been outfished 5 to one more times than I care to talk about.
I have my go to’s but sometimes a simple color change that you didn’t think about is a game changer.
Don’t bother asking why , because I have no idea.
Best bet is have a variety and when it gets tough , change it up.

For example. I was crappie fishing with Sexy Shad mini tubes for crappie and tearing them up to the extent I heard other boats grumbling. “ what’s this guy doing ?”
Well my pack of sexy Shad blew away by the wind.
Nothing else produced nearly as well.
Discovered that the pack of sexy Shad didn’t blow away, it got pushed behind something on the boat.
Put one back on and the action got fast and furious again.
No clue why this would be
Next week couldn’t buy a bite on that color with a search warrant. Turned out blue: white was the ticket that day.

Have a variety because it can change any time.
Because a color looks good to you don’t mean the fish will like it.

Be prepared for this. As I’m sure it ain’t just crappie that play this game.

In my experience, solid trailers work very well with combination jig colors. My assumption is that you are fishing it slowly. Depending on how long your skirts are, in a very slow presentation, there is a natural break to the trailer by the skirt. I hope that answers your question.
