Took the kayak out today.
I took my kayak out for the first time in two months. I launched it from the Blackburn Point boat ramp in Nokomis. There’s a lot of oyster beds and grass flats in that area. It didn’t take long to get my first, which was a Hardhead catfish. Sorry, but I didn’t take any pictures of any of the catfish I caught. I was fishing around several boat docks. It was still early when I got a massive hit and hooked into a really nice 17”Sheepshead. A while later I was fishing around another boat dock and I hooked into a really nice 26 1/2” Redfish. I did hook into another fish at one point but it spit the hook before I could even identify it. All I saw was flashes of silver, and then it was gone. It turned out to be a pretty good day. I kept the Sheepshead so I’m having fish tacos for lunch tomorrow. I had to release the Redfish because the season is closed due to the devastation the red tide caused a few months ago. Thousands and thousands of fish died from the red tide. It’s still fun catching them. All in all it was a really nice day.

Maybe your phone knows something about you.

Happy New Year. I know what you mean though. I see Ducking a lot and I know what it supposed to be by who it’s from.
What a superb way to get the new year rolling along! Glad you could get out in your kayak and also have some fun on the end of your line! Enjoy those taco's!

Nice Lorafa, we occasionally catch sheepheads in Lake Ontario. Never eaten one but heard they’re pretty tasty.
