Back to fishing after 15 year break

I have been an avid fisherman since I was 5. I have just moved to Canyon Lake in CA after a career in the military followed by a short civilian gig. Now that I am retired from all that, I am planning to get back into fishing (it's either fishing, or endless painful hours scratching off items from my ever growing "Honey-do" list) Not sure how I can get any recommendations if replies are blocked in this thread, but if anyone can provide some insight to Canyon Lake in CA, please sound off. I should also mention that I do not own a boat, but have used various float tubes in several smaller CA lakes and am looking into buying a fishing Kayak (wait list for a slip at the marina is over two years for those that do not live on the water- I chose living on the golf course) Thanks in advance and for allkwing me to join in.

Welcome Raz to the stage.

I have not fished Canyon Lake as I do not live there. I have heard from friends that it is a really good lake for LMB's. The only way you can bring a boat in from the outside is to know someone who lives there. Might want to check that out. Hmmm..........I have a boat!

Well come to the stage ,
Great bunch of people from all over here in the US.
We all like to tell fishing stories and I also like to show some hunt pictures.
You are living in one of the best private lakes to fish in.
I love know in North Central California, but grew up in Orange county.
There is great Bass fishing
In the lake.
