The worst part of it Fly is that most of those repairs are 5 or 10 minute fixes. The bad part is that the company sets the rates and us peons had to abide by the policy. I hated charging holiday rates and especially to people on fixed incomes. On the other hand , I had some that I wish I could have charged more. With me,it was all about the customers attitude

Slim i was the company and Holiday or not, same price. Determining factor for going on a call was prior experience with some customers. That Attitude you mention can bite one well down the road.

Ditto here. You got one chance at sympathetic pricing with me.

Our utility company will check out your gas furnace for free and light it.

True, but they won't fix it. Red tag till it's fixed.

Yeah the guy said he really wouldn't have charged me anything, but the truck had a GPS unit and they knew he had been there

Before I became an electrician with them I use to light gas appliances and I would tag water heaters and heaters.
Heaters because of a floating flame, not venting, or no door where the filter goes.
Water heaters with double vents which would cause the exhaust not to vent properly.

Maybe so, but some of us may
have all kinds of new mischief
and/or shenanigans up their
sleeves !

(Yeah ! Yeah ! Yeah ! - Been
called an instigator a time
or two before ! It's a dirty job,
but somebody's gotta do it !)

Happy New Year, everyone !

It will be a great one Plum. Lots more fishing, catching. New friends coming onto the stage, old friends hanging around. It's a time of HOPE.

Yep ! And many of us are HOPING
that we can finally plan (and
ATTEND) the M & G this May !

If I do wind up at Motel 6, I'll
keep the light on for y'all !

Good mornin', plum. I can't say that 2021 ended on a high note. We were supposed to go down to the neighbors, not to party, just to shoot some shi1 and drink some beer. Well, she got a sore throat, and they didn't think Marion should be exposed to that. Being that Marion has no immune system, that was very thoughtful of them. Then the furnace took a shit at 4:00 pm with the temp. in single digits. Oh boy, I have to call my furnace man at 4:00 on New Year's Eve. He's going to love me. He's deer hunting and didn't have his phone on. His wife told him when he got home. Well, they didn't have anything planned. I told the furnace man what the furnace was and was not doing and that he should bring Jody over and we will have dinner and visit for a while. They came over, he popped the part in, the furnace took off, then he sat down and enjoyed a nice dinner, we visited and had a nice time. A good time was had by all. A good way to bring the new year in.

Thanks, plum and have a Happy New Year.
Good mornin', plum. I can't say that 2021 ended o... (show quote)
