I go fishing no matter what, only weather will keep me at home. I have a solunar app I look at out of curiosity. Never have I had a best day of fishing on “97%” solunar prediction but somedays I get skunked on those “14%” days it makes me wonder.

Are solunar tables a sportsmans horoscope? Is it like using the farmers almanac to predict your winter?

The peak activity hours seem to be accurate

I just spent $16 on a Casio fishing watch off of Amazon. It is supposed to calculate best fishing times. Something new to play with.

I suspect the first message you get will be “You should have been here yesterday!” 😂

One day in NC a guy fishing swore by that solunar. So i checked it out and never really noticed a difference in catching. Either they are biting or not is how i went about it.

I used to follow religiously. Not that I wouldn’t go out on a low percentage day, just kind of tracked my success or lack there of. Did it for deer hunting also. I found there was a correlation between success and high percentage days, especially for bigger fish.
But, saying that, fishing success to me is definitely related to confidence. And to me that is half the battle!

I have had mixed results using them for hunting and fishing applications. The peak times have been close enough to keep me out there for an extra hour.

Peak or not you still have to be where the fish are and presenting some bait in a way they will strike. Since I live on a lake I’ll have a chance to play with it.

Watch says fish ate bitting. See you later.

First we're listening to the Battery Charger, and now a watch.

I am like you, I go when I can, and it really is only bad weather or horrible wind that will stop me if I have time to go.

With that said, I am a firm believer that the solunar tables. You can catch fish on any given day, but I absolutely have noticed the peak bites associated with the tables.

I also believe in the barometer as an indicator . . . actually even more so than the solunar tables, but neither ever stop me from going.

But, if the solunar tables and barometer (stable or a positive change) are both on, I might take a vacation day to get on the water!

But my favorite fishing quote still holds true . . .

"The best two times to fish is when it is raining, and when it aint!"

I have been out once - caught a few bluegills and crappies.

It helps my fishing fix, but I prefer the open water.

I am👍

Last night the solunar was at 17%. I showed up at 3pm, spudded a few holes and set up for the evening shift. Guys that had been there all day said it was a slow day. I had a few flags but no hookups. Marked some good fish but no bites. Mr Solunar had it nailed.

I've been a firm believer in the Solunar for roughly 20 years applying them to fishing and hunting. They are not 100% spot on but one thing that I can tell you from both a fishing and hunting perspective, during my best days afield and on the water the charts indicated high activity. I have caught some fish on the lower rated days but I've never had a great day when the charts called for low activity. I moved to the Outer Banks NC about two years ago and it seems to me that wind a tide are stronger factors here than the moon phase but, I've still got a lot to learn about this fishery.....
