I am a commercial fisherman with over 25 years experience , in the Northeastern Waters Of New England. From Lobstering , to dragging for everything from Cod & Squid , to Fluke &Conches in Nantucket Sound. My love for fishing started when my Dad used to take me & my 3 younger brothers rod & reel fishing for striped bass & bluefish on Cape Cod .The First Place The Fish show up is Colliers Ledge off Cotuit Massachusetts! When the lolligo squid come into Nantucket Sound to Breed ! I could tellya All My Secrets... But Then I'd Have 2 Charge Ya !!!😜 lmao!!! Anyway, when it comes to trolling , take your favorite split back , i use a Rapala or Bomber *A Siver / Blue split back floating * swimming plug ! Just Adding A Piece Of Squid Or Some SKIN from A Herring Or Mackeral To The Tail Hook Adds A Turbo Effect To Your Favorite Plug !!! Now U Probably Allready Knew This...But If U Did'nt ...U'll Be Pumped Next Time U Try It !!! Good Luck & God Bless Y'all !!!πŸ’ͺπŸ˜œπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŽ‰πŸŽ£πŸŒŠπŸŸ

That is good stuff and good advise. Stripers are a little less aggressive at some plugs but a blue/white Mann's 25Stretch does the job in SC lakes during the run from Dec.-Feb. You cold waterguys have a better chance than us in the south. I have seen some tremendous fish caught up north. We don't have size matched but we Do have a respectable bite and I love catching them. Thanks for all the posts. Merry Christmas to all!

By the way, 36" fish are about our max. But have seen pictures of 48# and up. Just not real common.

Really depends on where and what they are feeding on, some troll WIRE deep others will work the upper water column with short wire, braid, or mono
