Sea Bright NJ (Monmouth County) schoolie sized stripers up and down the coast are being caught. All out blitz on 24 DEC at 0900. If you have nothing else to do on Christmas Eve the fish are waiting for you!

Merry Christmas to all!

I cannot think of anything better to do than cast into a school of stripers on Christmas Eve, or any other time. Just Sayin...RJS

We have a local community transportation service (dial-a-ride) that prides itself in taking...or picking you up... anywhere in the County for a few dollars. Just for fun I might call them and see if they could add round trip service to NJ for the same cost! I'd buy the driver 3 square meals to cover the adventure...and even bring along a spare rod!

Kind of like gifting myself a day out fishing on Christmas Eve!

It's pretty cool...you phone in your location to a community transportation service (little bus's) and they come to your location to pick you up and take you to your destination. Sort of like calling a taxi cab...only "dirt cheap" compared to a taxi. I think it is most popular in rural areas...and not so much in a big city. In the city there would be public transportation running on set schedules and you use them to navigate as close as possible to your destinations.

I was really just kidding about asking them to take me to NJ for the day...that would be a huge stretch for them!

Schoolies in the surf are so much fun, especially with a lighter rod. A few years back they stuck around for three days straight. I’d leave as it got dark as they were still biting, not an easy thing to do. My total count was 50. They haven’t been back like that since.
