Haven't heard anything on the SOUTH Umpqua, but have heard that the NORTH Umpqua is shut down for steelies due to low water, etc.....a crying shame, since my buddy Bert had promised to take me with him this year, to the stretch where he caught his 22lb'r....my pipe dream to match.(or at least top 15lbs....been working on that for close to 3 decades now !)
Check the ODFW RECREATION REPORT site and click on your area or visit a tackle shop or two nearby. Good luck !

Thanks I've been here in Oregon for three years and I have to say I'm a little disappointed with the fishing up here haven't caught nothing and it seems all the lakes up here seem like over grown puddles but I got used to living in the San Joaquin Delta and lakes like Shasta it's just not the same

Welcome to the Stage Rockin, lots of info here and some fun as well. Oregon Fishing Regs are a pain to figure out sometimes, but a call to the local office where your interested in fishing can be very informative. The contact info is in the Fishing Regulation book for all areas, the Bioligist for the area should be able to help you out. I’ve never fished for Steelhead so I can’t help with personal experience, if Jeremy shows up here he might have some better info for you.
