Eternity is a Choice!

Everyone has a choice and they either make it by choice, or it is made for them by default, in either case, it is made at the time of our death. Have you ever thought that your soul is eternal? Everyone’s soul will live for eternity! So, it then becomes important to give some serious thought as to where everyone’s soul will spend it, in Heaven or Hell!

For some, the evidence is more than adequate. They choose to believe and accept the solution in the Holy Bible’s New Testament. Regardless of which denomination, they accept Jesus Christ as the only Son of the Most High God, Jehovah or Yahweh.

Others feel they need more solid proof. To them, there are just not enough facts. They feel that the believers are grasping at straws and are accepting too much on a whim. As Christians, we accept that God’s son was born and lived on Earth as a mortal man, was arrested, convicted of heresy, and was crucified on a wooden cross under Roman authority to please the Jewish leaders who had grown to fear his growing legion of believers, which was a threat to their political and religious control.

For those in the middle, there is Pascal’s Wager. This French mathematician and scientist came to the conclusion that he stated as follows:

If one believes in the existence of God, and lives as that is true, at his death, if there is no God
He will suffer no loss.
If at death, there is a God, if he is a believer, he is welcomed into an eternity of bliss.

If One does not believe in the existence of God, and there is no God, at his death, there is no loss.
If one dies and there is a God, and he does not believe, he will spend eternity in Hell!

I cannot speak for others, but for me, there are many other proofs that there is a Creator God than just a ‘take it or leave it’ wager! God has been good to me, in times of distress, in times of danger, and also times of joy and happiness, I have learned to appreciate and enjoy His presence in my life.

There have been major accidents where my life was spared, and other times when prayers are answered, many non-believers would consider it just a coincidence, but I did not.

Yes, Christians have always known that there’s no proof that Jesus was born on December 25th. Because there are no actual records and vital statistics kept, the date of his birth is one arbitrarily selected. And contrary to what many atheists believe, Christians are not ‘pie in the sky’ simpletons who choose to believe an ancient ‘fairy tale’! There are many proofs that are too lengthy to record here, but I will recite one.

In the Gospels, when detailing Christ’s birth in Bethlehem, there recorded the Star that guides the Wise Men to where the babe was born. Now, if the star were real it would have been seen over a large portion of the Earth, right? Well, the astronomers in ancient China also recorded this phenomenon at the same time. It seems that many ancient civilizations held to the belief that a new king, or emperor, was signified by such an event as a celestial event such as happened when Christ was born. It was not ignored, but only records in China have remained to confirm this event.

If after reading this essay, you think I am some kind of ‘nut’ that is all right. I am duty-bound to reach out to my family and friends, regardless of their response. Rejection is normal. But what about my not offering help to you my dear friends, and where there may be just one person
on the edge of a decision to become a believer. So, forgive me if I’ve been offensive, that was not my intention. Just remember one thing, your soul will live forever, where do you want it to be? Just Sayin…RJS

Great summary of your thoughts on this oh so important matter. When we get lost in our earthbound travels, and stop for directions that ultimately lead us to our destination...we usually appreciate it! The same holds true with our eternal destination....

thanks you are right every one makes their choice. even in this life the choice is who will you serve not if you will serve someone. there is non choice option for this life or the next and ignorance will not be an excuse.

Everyone has a choice and they either make it by c... (show quote)

Thank you, Bob, for the confirmation of what I’ve been telling FS members for years. Here is what Jesus said:

““I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you. For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18:19-20‬ ‭NLT‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/116/mat.18.19-20.NLT

I continue to pray for all those who have heard
God’s Word, yet still don’t believe.
My first thought, when I heard the news of the tornado in the Kentucky area, was : How many of those hundred or so people that were , in an instant, taken into eternity, were ready to meet their Maker and therefore went to Heaven. And how many of them did not believe, so will spend eternity in Hell. I’m fairly certain not one of these people expected their life to end on Friday or Saturday; but it did….
I have one question - are YOU ready if YOU should die today? I pray you are. Anyone who has read this, or any number of others I (and others) have posted concerning the “plan of salvation” and way to Heaven, will not be able to say “I didn’t know - no one told me.”
Please don’t wait till it’s too late ⏰.
Randy 🙏🏻

Just for an opposing point of view, check out George Carlin on Religion on YouTube.

I'm not saying I agree with what he says. It's just one man's beliefs at the time.

SMH AGAIN….
This is not a joke, as some may think….
Carlin was a funny man, but not someone I would depend on with my life or eternity. But that’s just me….

We don't know what's it was like before the flood, except people apparently lived a whole lot longer. People got so bad God decided to start over. He could only find 7 people worth saving, hence the Ark, also saving some of most of the airbreathing animals.
In the new earth God gave man a law. I don't believe that law was ever ment to be kept, it was ment to show man that he couldn't keep it and that he needed someone to pay the price for him. Old testament scriptures tell of that person, even His name.Jesus. New testament scriptures tells of his birth, life and death. His decipals tell how He wants us to treat one another and how we are to depend on Him. I believe the Bible is ment to be used as a mirror to examine ourselves and our relationship with our Savior, not a microscope to examine others.
Our job is to tell others the news of Jesus the Savior and to answer questions and guide them through the scriptures and to pray for one another and them. The believing is up to them and can't be forced. We can ask but we have no control in how God moves in the lives of others. Only God can see into the hearts of man...🙏

Just curious, if only God can see into the hearts of man ..., why do so many hard core religious people pass judgement on "hearts of men" they don't even know?
