It was a good game, but I hate that triple option, RPO style of football. Not many passing opportunities when you can’t have a typical sized O line, though. The defenses are so fast with the Service teams. No bowl game, but bragging rights for a year!

I saw during the game that Navy had the third toughest schedule in the country while Army was 107th. My thought is playing Notre Dame and Cincinnati does more for you than playing Bucknell and UMass.

They played Air Force too. (Sorry, couldn’t resist).
Best play of the game apparently was not a called play. #54 Fagnot took a direct snap on a supposed punt and turned it into a first down. In his post-game interview, he said he didn’t know it was going to be snapped to him.
Must have been amazing luck or divine intervention.

I hear ya OJ. My wife watched a little of it with me and she said "why don't they throw the ball? Do they ever throw the damn ball?"

That's what I was telling my wife. She couldn't believe that the Knights were 8 and 3 and Navy was 3 and 8, yet Navy was winning. Navy's schedule can be brutal.

I heard the coach say after the game that “the play was a mistake and sometimes you get lucky!”

In my 20 years in the AF seldom saw any interest in any of the games played amongst the Service Academies. A few officers who had gone to those schools were of course excited. Have seen some inter service bantering amongst retired/discharged enlisted guys at VFWs etc. and even then it was mostly only Army/Navy and seldom Air Force. I love college football and have some favorites with Navy being one. Also have some dislikes such as Michigan, Southern Cal, Texas and Alabama.

Not much worse than to be a WR on a running team!

He (Fagot #54) sure didn’t look ready, but sprung into action and got that crucial first down. He is a hell of a football player and had a great game at LB.
