Storm hitting Lake Havasu
Dec 10, 2021 16:41:45   #
Langer Loc: Lake Havasu City, Arizona

I knew a storm was headed in Thursday but here are a few photos from my kayak fishing trip. Wish I had fish to show but bass fishing has been very tough with the lower water temp, 58-60*. Wednesday was a gorgeous day of sunshine and 73* and Thursday morning was still nice but I started my trip back to CA by 1pm in the second photo. Paddling back to the ramp on the south shore, I was hit with a few 25-30 mph gusts that not only abruptly stopped me but put me in reverse a brief moment.

That's one gorgeous lake Langer. 73°air and 59° water, break out the shorts and T shirts. It'll be 6 months before we see conditions like that. You can keep the wind though. Be careful when those storms blow up. Keep trying when the conditions improve. Thanks for the beautiful pictures.

OBG, the water was down 2-3' from my last trip two weeks ago and the Colorado along the Parker Strip is way down so need precipitation bad. I just read Lake Tahoe is expecting up to 100" of snow between now and Tuesday! So if the Sierra receives that much it'll impact the Colorado River area which is great for Mead and Powell.
My brother from Hilton Head asked if anyone ever fishes Havasu as all the photos I send him show no one! I only go over midweek and I told him if I was looking for people I'd go into LA and sit on the freeway! (or get mugged or carjacked) Ha!

Thx for the report Langer. Have fished all those lakes at one time or another. Boy do we need water down here in SoCal. Most of our lakes are way down, which really affects the fishing. Hope that report is right about the snow.
