What are your favorite lead-free weights? Looking for the price+performance sweet spot.
Not trying to debate lead vs. everything else, need your advice for fishing locations that lead is banned. Mostly texas rigged plastics.
I've tried Ultra Steel and I swear they are breaking off my leaders like lead never has, otherwise they are fine. Just got some Green Gremlins they look similar but I haven't tried them yet.
The tungsten weights I've used were great, I liked them more than lead for sure but they were super expensive. I'm debating trying some cheap Chinese ones, hoping they are decent.
Looking for your recommendations on weights that aren't too pricey but don't contain lead. Thanks!

Back in the 50s, 60s we used old sprakplugs
Cheap Chinese tungsten is just as good as expensive tungsten worm weights
I stock up on these.
Have had pretty good luck with brass as well
We used to drop sparkplugs to back off tailgaters. Never even considered using them as a fishing weight.
Best go online for non-lead fishing weight discussion.
A fellow on another fishing forum uses spark plugs, chunks of chain, nails, basically anything heavy that
he can attach to the line, and won't be worried if he loses it. Re-purposing old material.

There was a post a couple days ago about tungsten weights that some one posted about cheaper China. Sinkers
I tried green gremlins. They break after repeated strikes on blacktop. Guess they'll break even faster hitting rocks
