Not the same, but it rymes! My wife and I got a big surprise in 2017 when we chose to foster parent a great nephew who was 5 and had no other blood relative to take him.

It was a total shock and at times a rocky road since he had some baggage having lived on the streets most of his young life. The legal adoption will be December 2 and he had 'found a bird's nest on the ground' as the saying goes! We could not be happier for him. He is part of the reason we moved from Houston to Austin since both he and our children and grandchildren are here. Just Sayin...RJS

Congratulations. The raising of any child is a honor and a reward. It may take a village, it certainly takes a family, sometimes extended.
My SIL became a sareget(sp) Dad to his 3yr old niece, she still calls him Puncle. She's a fireman and mother now.

Check back in 10 years when ours are old enough. Right now just enjoy the handing back after the visits.

My oldest grandson just had a little girl 2 1/2 years ago. Have not had to look after her yet while they work, but sure love the visits.

I'm happy or him too. Thank you two for being so kind and generous. He is truly lucky, and blessed, to have you folks to care for him. Also happy for you, that although you have been through plenty already, I'm sure, you still have enough love and compassion to tackle this. You rock !

Mr. Sample has been there before, twice. He knows what he's doing. Willing to step for family and humanity. Gets my positive vote for doing what is sorely lacking in today's society. Just Sayin'.
