Thanks for your service and welcome to the stage. It’s been probably twenty years since I’ve fished the area but we always did well at Marsh Island. Not sure what condition it’s in with the recent and past hurricane activity. We also hit the rigs south of the island in the summer at night and routinely caught limits of specs and reds. Try the Weeks Bay shoreline and keep an eye out for other boats and birds working the area. Good luck.

Among all that you've already received, try Googling the Louisiana game and fish Commission for their current fishing report. Just Sayin...RJS

Welcome to the stage. I fish the bay a lot. Several places that are good for reds, will not bring in specs. I usually go out of the Boston Canal, and it dumps into the west side of the bay. The last 100yds or so, you can catch reds there, all around the rocks on both sides. There is the 'trash pile', out of Shark bayou, turn south, be careful of the shallows, around mud point, and take a bearing of 217 degrees for 10 minutes at 20-25 mph. Buoy will be around there. You can also fish Redfish pt, south of that area, for reds. I also fish at the end of 'shark bayou', where the depth changes from 5 to 10 feet, at the base of the 'sheephead bayou.' Go to the La F&G website and look up the reefs, in the bay, most are manmade, and hold fish. Good luck, and thank you for staying safe.
