Hi all, I am typically into saltwater fishing and am looking to transition into fresh water fishing. Can somebody give me some recommendations on on solid for the price gear? Rod up to $100 and reel up to $200.

Too many options out there. I'd recommend a St Croix 7' Medium or Medium Light rod with a Shimano Nasci reel. Rod around $150, reel around $100. That'd be for trout and panfish. I'd also recommend visiting a sporting goods store in your area and viewing the rods and reels they have to offer. Makes a big difference in terms of what you might be fishing for. Panfish vs. Steelhead will require significantly different equipment. What are you planning on fishing for and where you planning on fishing at? Talk to locals, visit local stores, and perhaps join a local fishing club. You'll quickly find answers to your question there.
St croix Premier and Shimano Stardic. Can’t beat it for all round fishing. Light and great feel.
