Going to Aruba in late Jan. Never been.
Like to go salt water fly-fishing.
Any suggestions? Recommendations?Charters? On-shore?

Hope you have a blast, only been a drunk sailor there when ship pulled in, clubs and jacuzzi hopping the hotel beach fronts with bottles of rum……

Thanks for the quick response.
Got the Fodor Aruba guidebook but doing a Google search is a good idea.
BTW Abby Schuster of Kismet Charters out of Edgartown MA on Martha's Vineyard offers terrific fly fishing trips for Stripers, Blues, Albies if your out this way. 👍😷

You should probably call one of the charter boats in Aruba and talk to them. Aruba probably has info on fishing licenses for tourists as well. You probably don't need one if you do a charter.

I have been there fishing a few times. Wahoo are most common target. You can expect an interesting boat ride. Aruba has a windward and a lee side. There is usually a 30 mph “breeze”. That breeze starts in Africa and ends in Aruba. Problem is the fish are on the windy side. You can expect 8-12’ seas. Fishable but pretty bumpy. Don’t go if you get seasick or take something for it. You troll for wahoo about 10-15 mph. One of the fastest fish in the ocean. They are fun to catch. Good luck!
