no politics this thanksgiving

Just finished cooking some pecan pies and make me think how do you all pronounce “pecan” I pronounce it “Pee-kawn” put I know some pronounce it “Pee-can”. Which seems strange to me since that sounds like something you would carry in your boat or up on a tree stand somewhere.. This then made me wonder are the people who pronounce Pecan “Pee-Kawn” the same one who pronounce Crappie “crop-Pee”? and ones who pronounce pecan “Pee-Can” the same ones who pronounce Crappie “Crap-Pee” . I Know not real important topic, but at least it is not politics on this thanksgiving. Have a great thanksgiving no matter what your accent is.

That's just nuts, and a pee can can come in handy, even when you feel a little crap pee 🤣😬
Happy Thanksgiving to ya'll

DC good topic. I catch ( stuff ) from the Mrs for saying pee can. But it is all right if she ask for a glass of war-ter from the zink.

Go figure !

It's more p'can when it comes out of my mouth. My daddy was from Alabama and he had a sister who had a pecan farm(?) in Arkansas, used to send us bags full of em, so I believe I got my pronunciation from him. She also used to send us sorghum molasses - good stuff on pancakes and waffles.
