Adice on winter times

Im starting to fish in small canals/rivers real down south of Texas. Luckily I got couple channel catfish and crappie. Will the winter times and cold times affect fishing bites? Do they stop feeding or they are still active ? Thanks for advice.

South of Texas ! You must be in MEXICO, OR the Gulf. Waters should still be pretty warm compared to most other places. Good luck, let us know how you do.
If you don't catch any fish you could always lay on the beach and work on your tan.
