Full moon at Havasu for Bass

Looking back at the last 3 months I've caught a good 4-5# LM Bass in this 16-18th day of the month. We're they all full moon periods, I think so and the fact is I don't catch many fish at Havasu in a kayak fishing the south shore 1-2 days/week. Getting up at 3:45 to be on the water by 7 so I'll let you know if that's the good luck charm Fri night.
Seems in the past that I'd read full moons weren't good for fishing, opinions?

I've caught nice bass on a blackbird jitterbug under a full moon, it will get your adrenaline going big time when they bust it out of the water

Like CamT , I do well with black topwater lures during full moons. The theory ( not mine but i subscribe to it ) is fish can see the dark profile because it contrasts with the bright moonlit night sky. To me the topwater strike is dramatic and exciting especially on a calm surface on a quiet night. Recommend getting on the water much earlier, say 2:00 AM. Even if you don't get a single strike, it's so nice to be out in that peaceful environment .
No motors, loudmouths just you and the wildlife.

Moonlight they can see better at night and top water lures create a lot of vibration that makes the bass to strike

I usually do better on a full moon than I do at other times. I have heard that is not the ideal time to go but always seem to do better

I believe the theory is DAYTIME fishing is poor around a full moon, because they were feeding at night. I've done well most times I've been able to get out, which hasn't been many lately.

I agree Fred bait fish are out on a full moon so the bigger fish are out also chasing the little fish just like using a light at night time to draw in bait fish😁👍

I agree with Mr. Fredfish. When the moon is full, my best fishing has been at night, about 1 -2 full days before full moon and after full moon.but I don’t do too much of that anymore. Also the early morning bite , to about an hour after sunrise seems to be better during that time, but after that , the fishing seems lousy during the daylight hours. Now days , I just go when the opportunity comes up and hope for the best.....lol...My 2cents

Thanks for the replies guys, I arrived at Havasu about 7 and and hit it hard for 6 hours without a hit. Spending the night and will try tomorrow but kayaking in the dark chilliness just doesn't do it for me. When it's 110* up here it might be something to consider but boating in the dark sounds kinda dangerous? Plus the way I can tangle up a spinning reel I don't know!
