Just got back from the river. We had maybe a couple of bites. 1 for sure, it was bout 10 or 12 inches. That was it for the day. We fished for 5 hours. Guess it was better than a skunk and the weather turned beautiful after a foggy morning. Couldn't have ask for a prettier day. Just a few more caught is all.
I didn't take a pic of the dink either.
Hopefully we'll get em next time.
My money is on you’ll get them next time!👍🏻

That's fishing, not catching, and that's life. You are definitely ahead of the game.

Quite unusual for you Steve but it certainly happens a bit more for me than you. Guess even the best sometimes get just about the skunk.

Yep, sure marked a lot of fish all throughout the river. Just couldn't get them to bite today. Trolled 4 different lures tryin to entice em but they just didn't wanna play. OH well. Maybe next time.

Yeah, turned out to be a really beautiful day. Just no fish other than the 1.

Yeah, we don't always catch double digit numbers. But we do often enough. Sure spoils ya though.
Watching YouTube videos makes days like that seem unbearable. It always seems like people catch constantly day and night and rarely have to go minutes between bites. Plus they catch more and bigger fish in one day than I will get all year. Or the guy that catches 25lb channel cats and calls them “fun sized dinks”. Not all of us can fish all day in some of the best fishing spots in the world. We make do with what’s around us and try to have fun every time.

Yeah, that's the way we've been spoiled fishin the Napa River. Quite often we only fish 3 or 4 hours at most and some days it's just that, only mins. between fish for the 2 of us. When a slow day is about 20 fish, an average day is 30+ and a good day is 50 to 70+ fish you can see how easy it was to get spoiled.
If we go fishin else where the fishin isn't the same.
Yesterday was a prime example of that. It was a gorgeous day fishin just not a good catchin day.
