In terms of the cost and functionality, would this be the best unit in its class? I’m looking for side imaging and GPS capability. Anyone have any reviews on this product an whether or not its worth it? Or if I should spend a bit more money for something much better?

I put one on my Thunderjet outboard boat and love it. Not sure why you would want to spend more money. This unit does it all and is easy to operate. Good luck on your choice.
I bought this unit 6 months ago and it works really well once you read, study the booklets, and of course utube for instructions. very easy to operate. some of the features are pre set at the factory some i change, and some i leave alone I also bought Helix 8 and it pretty much the same with a few exceptions. I like my units but i would look at garmin also depending on the type fishing u do and the structure u are looking for. let me knw what u end up buying.
