Riding in a taxi

A mother and her young son were riding in a taxi in a big city during a rainstorm. Underneath a couple of awnings were some ladies of the evening. Little boy asked mom who and what. Mom answered those ladies are waiting for their husbands to come out of work.
Uninvited the taxi driver said 'why don't you tell him the truth? They are hookers and they have sex with men for money. Boy inquires of his annoyed mom if this is true and she says 'yes'.
Few minutes go by and the lad asks what happens to the babies they have Mom? She replied 'most of them grow up to be taxi drivers'.

Not that there’s anything wrong with it😁………
Reminds me of the one “off color” joke my mom told me. A prostitute is walking down the street saying “Here tiz, here tiz”. Two policemen pull up and tell her she’s under arrest for soliciting sex to which she responds “Soliciting sex! Hell no. I’m just calling my dog named Tiz!”

my grandfather was a bridge tender on the sea bright bridge around 1900. gps lived in an apt over what was then fowlers hdw store [across street from present police station] he was walking home after wk in a fierce noreaster along flooded ocean ave and was struck by a piece of driftwood in a wave. managed to make it home but got a bloodclot from strike and went to his heart and died in his sleep that nite.or was it my great grandad. anyway thought you might like the story.

Wow! That's a shame he died in that fashion. That same crossing is still a drawbridge built in the 30s and is about to be replaced again by another drawbridge. Fowler's Hardware is now Bain's Hardware and there has only been two ownership changes since the 1950s.
Fishing is still good but a lot has changed east of Ocean Ave including the removal of the railroad tracks. If you're ever down here I'd be happy to wet a line with you and show you around.

back in early 70s was a bar called Milli's rite in front of the police station. pretty weird loc. for such a ruff place'used to hand out there as a kid [age was 18 then] lots of drinkin and brawlin. it was later Ichabods dont know now.the whole town used to be a real party spot back then. oceanfront bar. melody corner, manning's jetty, donovan's reef, trade winds, peninsula house. really mellowed with age [and $] Long branch and asbury park too. i was a real jersey beach front bum. moved to nm in 74

Ichabod's is now a very upscale 'Woody's'. Donovan's Reef was wiped by Sandy but they got a large government grant and rebuilt. Closes in the winter now.
The other places are now 'condos'. The ferry to NYC from the Highlands made the area very attractive to the Wall Street crowd ( a 45 minute boat ride) and real estate prices went bonkers.
You have to go Highlands to find a type of place that Sea Bright was known for and only two are left there.

My three went to RBC also. Classes of '83, '85 and '89. Tomorrow night RBC plays in a semi-final state championship game against a school from Hammonton, NJ named St Joseph's.
RBC over the past 20 years has become a football powerhouse and there is an All Pro on the Colts from RBC. You should have seen him in high school!
RBC beat RFH on Thanksgiving 11 years in a row by some very lopsided scores at times and RFH called the series off. An alumnus gave the school $10 million dollars a few years back and you should see the place now! The old Red Bank police station is now RBC's arts and drama building. A few bucks can make a world of difference.

Have a great Thanksgiving!
