There seem to be a lot of articles and comments lately about Veterans who do not appreciate being thanked for their service. I don't think anyone here minds, though. If you do please skip this post.
For the rest of our Veterans--THANK YOU for the sacrifices you have made and the hardships you have endured to protect our Constitution and keep America the land of the free and the home of the brave. Your service to our country is often underappreciated! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²

thank you for acknowledging that Many veterans gave years of their todays for all of your tomorrows. Some of us still have dark days and may not want to be thanked at that particular time, nothing personal, it is what it is.

BC. Most of us appreciate it. At times for me at least I wonder if some really know what toll it takes on those that saw combat. At times from not all but some when they say thank you it seems more trendy than sincere. I certainly believe everyone on FS truly means it n appreciates the sacrifices. Many have family n friends that served n fully understand. Thanks you for your post. To me n others there is a brother n sisterhood right here. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‡±πŸ‡·πŸ‡±πŸ‡·

You are very welcome and I pass that thought on to all others as well. I’m very proud to have taken on the responsibility of serving my country. Many people could do that. It was a great honor for me.

You may not be aware of this but Max Cleland passed away. He was the triple amputee veteran who became the director of the Veterans Administration. One of the great things he did was facilitate the official recognition of PTSD as a legitimate combat malady, to be treated in the VA Health Network. Wiki or Google him up to see what he was able to accomplish. Fine man and wonderful American.

Thank you for posting this about Mr. Cleland, as I was not aware that he had passed. As you stated, he was a fine man and did good things as the director of the Veterans Administration because he understood the needs of our service people.
