I fished the surf some this summer and it was fun a few sand perch used sand crabs and plastic worms. The surf my grandsons who surf there now much bigger will the fishing in the winter months be as good or do the perch migrate I know I fished south of Capitola and caught some stripers some small under 18 inches and a few 3 to 6 lbd on sand crabs that a gentleman showed me how to use the red soft shell ones I have refined my way to catch them I went to a restaurant supply house and bought a French fry basket there real sturdy and go right thru the sand can scoop up a lot also good for clams but any information on winter fishing would be helpful thaks

Well from what I’ve seen in the past fishing 🎣 the coast especially the surf you still have a lot of different species of fish 🐠 that are available to catch of course it’s all in the baits you present them I’m not a big fan of surf fishing but I do enjoy fishing 🎣 close to the rocks and I’ve had pretty good luck catching cod’s and perch during the winter so good luck 🍀
