As the season winds down for some, (and me) I was wondering what everyone’s personal best day out or fish was for the season.
Mine was a 4.5 lb LMB down south which I guess is average for Florida which also ended up being my best day out with a total of 15 LMB caught.

Went out to 90ft off shore we and got 3 Red Snapper, 15 vermilion snapper, 10 triggers, 21 black sea bass and 5 silver porgeys. Water was flat all the way out. 29 miles to the spot.

In terms of "catching", my best day this season was spent fly casting for small stream trout near Grayling, MI from a kayak. It was one of those "Caddy Shack" styled days when nothing could go awry! That being said, I always enjoy fishing whether I catch anything or not. There is so much more to observe and take in besides reeling in fish for me.

My best day was the one I went out on the Napa River with Saw and we caught around 30 stripers. A wonderful day, not only did we catch fish, I got to meet one of our members who turned out to be great person. Second best would be when
I met Tocino on the American River in Coloma. No fish, but a morning well spent. Thank you to both of you Saw and Tocino.

One of our trips to the Napa, Brad and I had a 70+ fish day in bout 4 hours.
Another trip he and I doubled up on two 8 pounders.
A trip just the other week, Ben and I had 20+ pounds of fish with the first 4 fish of the day. And 1 of them wasn't even a keeper. We only kept 2 and the other fish we let go was an identical 4 1/2 pounder like 1 we kept.
I posted pics from that trip a few weeks back.
Those were just some of the highlights from our striper fishin this year. Last year was better than this year too.

Sounds like a banner day on calm seas. I didn’t realize there were trigger fish that far north. I went of your coast once. Had luck but the boat was like a bucking bronco.

Plenty of triggerfish. But I don't go with seas over 2 ft.

Absolutely FY! Nothing like a day out. I have the choice of fresh or saltwater. I most always choose fresh for the peace and solitude.
But I do enjoy the catch!

This year had no banner days. Mostly small Bass, or low numbers. Numbers wise, July 4th at Zoar, and August 12th at Lilly were both 6 fish days. That's a good number for me, but no big fish. Only caught a couple 3+pounders this year and they were on very slow days.
Probably the most enjoyable catch was the 3:14Smallmouth at Zoar. I had to wait for 2guys on a big Ranger 21, 250hp, to work thru a cove I wanted to fish. I dropped in about 75ft behind them, and as I got to a secondary point I got a heavy thump on a Yum Dinger. After 2 jumps and 2 bulldog runs under the boat, I netted her in clear view of the 2 tournament anglers. I even took her picture facing them. It was very satisfying.

I don’t remember any great days for myself this season, but I helped my future DIL catch her first fish and I was there for my Wife’s PB LM at 6 1/4#. I also helped some friends catch their first fish on Lake Erie. Those days made my year! I’d better get my act together and catch my own next year!

My personal best day of fishing was watching my oldest son catch a 1500 pound sturgeon in the Columbia River.
My personal best day quanity wise was catching 97 squawfish in one day at $8.00/fish. The bonus was two of them were tagged and worth $500.00 each. $1,776.00 in one day fishing. One shouldn’t complain about that👊. The reality is the number one angler in the program averages 174 fish a day for 5 months but it was a huge day for me when my average is 35. 😂

Very nice!
The #1 angler may have pocketed at least $208K for catching fish with bounties on them? If he fished every day, of course…nice hobby!

I have not caught as many fish this year as last year but all in all it has been a good year. I also had a good day I’m the Spring at White Water Memorial State Park catching crappie The pictures below are of the largest Large mouthy, small mouth, and channel cat I caught this year.

Was fishing with my good buddy and put him on his PB of 5.28 lb LMB. My big that day was 5.26lb. That alone put a big smile on his face. The rest of the morning I continued to catch and my best 5 were 17.5lbs. Love days like that
