Try this!I had a hard time keeping dough bait on a hook ,then i put it together! I use 2 kit and kaboodle cat chow that are shaped like doughnuts ( liver flavored) with some dough bait inbetween
Hook load: chow +bait + chow = burger! See pic
I have used chow to help hold other bait on hook for years
Change often, chow will get soft in water

Last week I caught 3 fryers using this setup.once you wiggle cat chow on,it .it is difficult for fish to steal, untll it gets soft,so change often

Cut patch from cheapo panty hose. Wrap dough ball in patch, wind with magic thread. Works for those chicken livers too. And doesn't soften.

I tried the pantyhose trick, too.what I discovered was that catfish will "taste" food first, then carrys it off if it seems ok.that is why you dont reel right away if you get a bite with catfish.wait till they take the line out to set hook.I found that catfish will hold on to pantyhose and suck liver, doughbait, ect out and you dont even know they are there.
However, magic thread does work! Good idea for my setup, too, wrap it up!
