Fishing report and how and what to fish for on Lake Mohave. Am new to the area . Did a lot of lake fishing for trout in Western Washington
I believe you have large mouth bass and Striper along with quite and assortment of other fresh water types of fish đ the Colorado river from Davis dam in Laughlin down to lake havasu has Stripers trout carp and a few other fresh water types in it

I've kayak-fished it 3-4 times the past 2 months and it's tough. Trying for Stripers and LM Bass. Very clear water and the lake is down, launched from Telephone Cove and had to carry the yaks 100yd over big rocks. Gets very windy quite often so always looking for coves to get away from it. Good luck, try south end of Havasu, big bass but also not easy to catch. Guess that's how they get so big!

Mornin', Bruce, welcome to the Forum. I'm sorry, I have never fished AZ.
Forget Mohave go to Lake Havasu. There are record size Sunfish 2-3 lb fish are common. I think they also have broken a few records with 5 & 6 lb fish caught the last couple of years. Good Luck

Mohave is one of my favorite Colorado River lakes. With that saidâŚfall winter is crazy tough fishing. Start by learning it in March, April ,May. The lake will be full with lots of bushes in or hanging into the water. Jigs and senkos under those bushes when the fish move in. Youâll see the fish itâs so clear. Largemouth and smallmouth population. Average size is really good. Reach out to me if you want more info. Tim Miller

What specific type of sunfish is this ? Anyone .... ? What a MONSTER.
Drifter.. thanx for your response. What a:pig huh ? That fight with that sideways torque must have been unreal. I don't think my ultralight bluegill rig could handle her. 2 lb. test would be put to the test!
