Are there other trolling motors as good as Minolta that are less expensive? Just asking? Thanks Drew Barrick

Motorguide makes good ones too, but probably not any cheaper. There's Chinese brands out there, but I don't know anything about them.
There is also Minn Kota but not sure if prices are any different from the others
Depending on whether you are using on a boat or kayak, there are a few other choices to consider. I've heard of a brand named Island Hoppers too. If you Google some key search words others may show up because electric motorized propulsion is getting more popular...especially for kayaks. Best regards on your search...and "yes"...it seems like the good deals out there are a thing of the past these days...unless you find items that are "used".

What type and size motor are you looking for?
55 lb thrust for lake fishing on 14 ft Jon. Thanks

I think that's what he meant to say D. Minolta makes cameras, not trolling motors.
Right Minn Kota. Thanks 😊
Meant Minn Kota. Should have reviewed before I posted. Thanks everyone!
Thanks fishyaker. 14 ft Jon. Appreciate info. Drewbarrick 😊🐟
I have a 55lb Minn Kota on the bow of my 14ft aluminum v hull and it moves us great. Not sure of any cheaper brands but I see them all the time on Craigs list and Facebook marketplace. For really good deals. Usually barely or totally unused.
I have purchased over a dozen trolling motors over the years. I have never purchased a new one. And I never had one fail. All were purchased under $100 including two riptides. I have no idea how many boats I have owned. The only new one, was an 11 foot Bass Tracker John Boat, won at a sports show raffle. Sense you are asking this question, I suggest you take along a friend who knows what to look for in a used electric motor. I have passed on far more than I have purchased. All the motors I have purchased were pedal o tiller operated. If you want remote, gps spot lock and all that new stuff, just expect to take out a loan regardless of brand.
Bapabear: thank you for used troller advice. Makes lot of sense at current new prices. Much appreciated! Drewbarrick

Good luck with your search. I use Craig's list when searching. You can also look at "market place on Face Book. I would put a wanted ad in the boat parts section of Craig's.
min kota and motor guide is the way to go
