Did you ever wonder why ....
I realize things happen to people at times that we truly don't understand the reasons for. Cancer, C***d, car accidents, loss of a friend or loved one, job loss, the list goes on. Did you ever ask yourself why?
If God provides for all our needs, loves us, and promises us eternal life, all for honoring him, why do horrible things happen to people? If God is all-loving and caring, why do thousands die from C***d(almost 5 million now worldwide), cancer, car accidents, starvation, etc ... Wouldn't a loving, all powerful creator of the universe, keep those things from happening?
All my very religious friends never have an answer for this one. All they say is "there's a reason for everything." Really? There's a good reason for all that suffering?
Just askin folks.
If you understand, no explanation is necessary.
If you don't understand, no explanation is possible.

This same sort of question is asked quite often. I guarantee I’m not a good person to answer it all.
I do like a song by Garth Brooks
Unanswered Prayers.

I guess I don't understand. Maybe someone much smarter than me can explain it to me. I'll try and understand, even with my inferior intellect.

I have a feeling this thread may have opened a can of worms that won't be used for fishing.

The song unanswered prayers was about not marrying the wrong woman. Like many of us. That doesn't explain what you asked about G.
Did you ever think that maybe it is the devil's work and God doing these terrible things!!!!!

Gh, i am sure those that know the good book far better than me will respond. I want to say i have faith in God knows what he is doing. There is a reason for everything and someday i pray you get your answers from the source. My only question is why babies die? That one puzzles me.

I couldn’t have said it better !
There are literally hundreds of answers throughout the Bible, but the people who “question” God, usually don’t read it, and if you tell them what it says, they refuse to listen or believe what you tell them. It all starts with FAITH....
“The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see. The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd.”
Hebrews 11:1-2 MSG

I'm with you there plum. That also k**ls many relationships. People can't deal with the grief. I had n uncle I never got to meet. He died 2 months to the day. We took flowers to graves. As Bug was looking around I walked over to the children section. Standing there looking at how many babies passed the same day n many more in a few days is heartbreaking. Take the bad people give the kids a chance at life n the parents at being good ones. I know how much it hurt to lose my 45 yr old daughter. Can't imagine not having any time at all with them. 😓😓

You are sooo right. Many people fail to realize the fact that Satan is also powerful and is still very much alive. He was cast out of Heaven way back at the beginning, along with 1/3 of the angels. The reason? Because he wanted to be above and more powerful than God. We know how the story ends, though... He will be cast into the bottomless, firey pit (Hell) along with the others who think as he does.
God doesn’t make bad things happen - Satan does, even though God may ALLOW it. Read the book of Job. It is a good example of this and may begin to answer your questions. 🙏🏻

As I said when I started this post, that seema to be one of the standard responses, "there's a reason for everything," doesn't really answer the question. At least for me.

So your answer to the question is FAITH? Interesting. I guess that's an answer of sorts.

Even the most intelligent Bible scholars can not understand everything about God or the Bible. Man was never intended to know EVERYTHING .
“Then the Lord God planted a garden in Eden in the east, and there he placed the man he had made. The Lord God made all sorts of trees grow up from the ground—trees that were beautiful and that produced delicious fruit. In the middle of the garden he placed the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.”
Genesis 2:8-9 NLT
https://bible.com/bible/116/gen.2.8-9.NLT“The Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it. But the Lord God warned him, “You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden— except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die.””
Genesis 2:15-17 NLT
https://bible.com/bible/116/gen.2.15-17.NLT““God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.””
Genesis 3:5 NLT
https://bible.com/bible/116/gen.3.5.NLTRemember, this is what got Satan in trouble while he was still in Heaven. He thought he knew more than God, Himself. Many people today have the same mindset; they think they are smarter than God and don’t need His help. They think they can do it all on their own. (...I only depend on ME)
If you have read the book of Job, you see that Satan lost the “wager” with God and Job ended up with double what he had before Satan started afflicting problems on him.
We just have to have faith that God knows what He’s doing and everything will work out for our good if we trust Him and follow His instructions.
“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”
