For anyone new to Flounder fishing we put together this tutorial guide that covers everything from the best rod & reel, rigs, setup & basic flounder fishing techniques. Hoping this will help beginners be able to get some basics know-how and start hooking up on some flounder! What are some of your go-to fluke/flounder fishing tips?
I trap my own killies that I've always used for fluke aka summer flounder. However other anglers are starting to do better than I do by using GULP. I am at the point now where I would tell someone just beginning to target fluke to go with the man made product. My neighbor still uses as he has for the last 30 years a pink Mr. Twister and a spearing. He refers to it as a 'sandwich'. Always use a net. Use #6 or #7 circle hooks. Never 'j' hooks.
I havent been fishing long, but it seems to me they will eat damn near anything once you find them…the hardest part is finding them…..for me anyway.
