Well, yes if there was only one fisherman. But usually in this case the photographer also caught a limit.
Once, we hired a guide and were fishing for trout in Matagorda Bay. We finally quit around noon with a full limit of 12 each, the individual limit. Came back to the dock and put all our trout on a cleaning table in prep for fileting them. A small crowd assembled to admire our morning on the water.
Well, a Texas Game warden also came by to admire our haul. As we were standng around, I being a nervous type counted about 4 more fish that our total legal limit. I was certain we were going to be ticketed by the game warden. But he just congratulated the guide and left. I then asked our guide why if we were over the limit why he didn't notice.
The guide said we weren't over the limit, 4 of our catch were sand trout and didn't count. which was a real relief for me! Just Sayin...RJS

I looked it up and there must be an overpopulation of smallies. Limit is 20 per day per angler.

Wow that’s a good thing because here where I am the lake,pond what ever type of fresh water body wouldn’t matter if the fish were stacked on each other the limit would stay the same regardless so hats off to you good job 👍
