Giant ocean sunfish ?

Ocean sunfish ? Never heard of
one 'til now - this monster was
caught in someone's fishing nets
off the coast of North Africa !
Marine biologists estimated its' weight at around 4,400 lbs. !

They are very mellow, we've seen them sunning on the surface, when fishing offshore.
Never saw one that big though.

That’s insane! I catch quite a few sunfish but they’re usually less than one pound.

My brother accidently snagged one off Atlantic City. Dropped his rig to the bottom and the hook snagged it on the way down.that thing took off like a rocket. His Penn reel was about smoking when it finally pulled loose about 100 yards out.

Have seen some big ones off the Calif. coast...........but not that BIG!

I heard about that one Big A but it’s the first time I’ve seen it. Looks like a whale.

Seen a few out of Monterey Bay going whale watching, big but not that big.

They’re a huge fish that looks crippled. I wouldn’t want to make one of them mad if I was swimming with them.
