Spent a day on the Toccoa River.....caught 4 nice browns on white streamer.....my 1st attempt with fly rod.....lost one at boat that looked like 18-20 inches. Spillage at dam has broken control so water coming thru at 4 to 5 x normal current Flo....has a number of hits I missed due to lack of fly fishing experience....mostly 12 to 14" fish. Used Bowman Flyfish guide....Jason worked hard and knows the river.....gotta go back in spring! That was a fun time!

Hope you enjoyed Blue Ridge. You can wade just below dam when the gates are closed. Fishing is also good on river above the lake in the stocked area (out Aska Road) when the flow isn’t too high. The fly shop is good about sharing river conditions and giving pointers. You can also book guides there for both public and private water.
