Hey. Was curious to see how many / what responses I get to this. I have some lures that I use that have names . I only name them when I have done exceptionally well with them. One is a 130 whopper plopper that is bone colored. I named it “ bonehead “ . Another is an arashi squarebill I named “pigsticker”. My names are usually one/ two words . My son has a strike king bait he did very well with at lake fork. He calls it “ the lake fork marauder “ . His names are more dramatic. He’s a little better at naming his stuff than me. Anybody else do this ? ....My 2cents

I've never thought about it to be honest. If I go to naming them it will guarantee me to get hung up and lose it. Murphy's law.....

If I had names for my lures I would have had a service for the one I buried at sea today. He was a black & silver Red Eye Shad. He's served me well for the last several month's. He went to the bottom because I had neglected to cut & retie my fluorocarbon leader after he had caught several fish for me. Nope, ain't gonna name my lures, or any of my tackle.

I had one very old jig, Black and Yellow, that I called Bumblebee. With a motor oil colored powerworm as a trailer, it was the most productive jig I ever owned. Lost it on a hard bite in a boulder field. I could never find or make another as successful. That's the last and only one I ever named .

Found a Lucky Craft square bill hung up in a tree a few years back. Started using it that day , and afterwards, and started catchin fish with it. I started callin it "Mr. Lucky". Still have the lure but don't use it much anymore.
Why do we stop usin lures after a few years that always caught fish before. Hmmm. Might have to start tryin Mr Lucky more again this year.

Saw I've been wondering the same thing lately. Always the next best thing. Ever wonder why when you find a lure that works very well until you buy 5 more 🤔🤔
