I’ve noticed in some photos here there is food on boats. Me, being superstitious ( some of you guys might remember I talk to my boat), I always bring the same food. Breakfast is a honey bun and chocolate milk. Lunch is usually beef jerky and a coke ( caffeine ) . Same stuff, every time. I want to believe eating this same stuff has helped me over the years. Kinda like a ritual. Anybody else do the same or maybe a different, ritual type thing? .....My 2cents...

Well, I suppose if you have asked your boat what its "druthers" are, that would be fine. Most of the boats I've ever owned tend to prefer crackers, cheese, Vienna Sausages, and canned sardines. Oh! also a lot of water and soft drinks in a large cooler. Bananas are OK because that is just a superstition.

One needs to be careful of coconuts though. Once while fishing on the east coast of Costa Rico, we were back in the jungle fishing for snook. Once a workboat or barge came along close to where we were fishing. It was loaded with burlap sacks of coconuts, so much so that water was lapping over the gunnels! I told our guide that I sure hope that guy had functioning bilge pumps operating because otherwise, he was going to swamp before long. Just Sayin....RJS

I always have plenty of water. If hot one or two Gatorade n one ginger ale. One can of V8 to start the morning plus coffee. I do have 2 items I carry on every trip. Not to use just to carry. Not sure why I ever started this habit. A very dear friend gave me this case knife many yrs ago. Came in a tin with a chrome rattletrap with case logo on it. I've carried the knife n the orange hanky on every hunting n fishing trip for at least 25 yrs. Never use either I just don't feel right if I don't have them with me. Never carry them any other time. Superstition good luck security blanket thing whatever. 🤔🎣 Poptarts cliff bars bel vita chackers jerky pepper sticks ham n chz sandwich n the ever popular Smuckers crustables PBJ 😋😋

Always have a Snjckers candy bar around somewhere. Goes back a long way . Don't have any idea why it has to be that particular candy bar, but that's what it's always been.

It won't be an accident, it will be very intentional.

The menu changes with those who are coming along. Coffee and Belvita crackers if I am alone at sunrise (can count on this unless Son Brady is along). Water, venison snack sticks, cheese and crackers, for sure. Gatorade or Body Armor if I remember…
This time of year pumpkin seeds if I can get them to last more than a few minutes out of the oven 🤪
Mostly things I can easily vacuum out of the boat!

It’s crazy how that works for us fishermen/women it would seem we all have some kind of superstition that works for us I always when I’m with my son or friends have a beer as soon as I get on the water I don’t have another one until afternoon but even my wife can contest to this if I don’t have that first one when starting I don’t catch anything but that’s just me

We have bananas on the boat all the time. Never hurt a thing. I’ve seen that superstition on one charter boat in my life and we didn’t catch much that day. The captain said “if you have bananas in your lunch take em out and leave em here or you ain’t going”. One guy had one and had to leave it on the dock. 14 of us on a charter boat and we caught 16 rockfish between all of us on an 6 hour trip. Six keeper crab in 4 pots.
