If anyone would be interested in fishing south Louisiana I'm willing to open up my home. The Atchafalaya Basin is it's own world. Bass, bluegill, goggleeye (warmouth), catfish....you name it we have it. Just send me a PM.

Mr. Wood, that sounds like opportunity knocking for sure. You just might get a mini meet and greet going down there. Maybe next year for me, got some stuff going on here that i have to do.

Next year would be perfect. Springtime it really turns on around here. Fishing has slowed down immensely.

Yessir! Red fishing is good this time of year along the coast line. I don't have the boat to go around the rigs.

Like a champ. Holding up well. I use it all the time. There's a bit of maintenance involved but to me it's worth it. I got her stuck yesterday.

Can’t you just shift into four wheel or four prop drive?

Duly Noted Mr.Wood-E,
I usually fish with a friend out of Lake Charles.
I also make several trips to the East coast sometimes out I-10.
Looks like you are about 7-8 hours out.

Thanks,

BD

You are most generous. Please be careful and watchful. I don't wanna be a bummer, but does your homeowner insurance cover accidents to guests ? Before following through with this, I am hoping an attorney on the Stage would offer you some guidance pro bono.
Security cameras a must in case of disputes or negative events. I have a friend that sponsors a fishing derby for young people annually ( now postponed due to Covid-19 ) who purchases an insurance "rider" for the event. Co-sponsored by a bait and tackle shop and a Veterans's group. He inherited the event when he purchased the property and continued it. Vets donate time and stocked trout, parking assistance, food preparation , security, etc. We also purchase bait on consignment, but bait shop guy for years has always refused payment. Would like to have Porta John rental donated, but so far none of the providers have agreed. Partial offset of the expenses is offset by charging modest price for bait and adult food. Soft drinks free. No alcohol, family event.Prizes of fishing tackle awarded in boys and girls divisions for heaviest fish ( no gender variations have cropped up YET. )
Good wholesome activity for kids and parents, grandparents. Property owner hires in an ice cream truck for event and pays for free kids treats. You think the kids appreciate this? Sure do, and thank Mr. S effusively.
Sorry, I got a bit carried away, but I really love children.

Dang Nutz, you sure put an unexpected spin on a friendly invite. Has the entire country gone this negative and sue happy that we need security cameras to have friends over to go fishing? I don't think the gentleman is inviting the entire FS to come at the same time but merely a get away it looks like. Thus my mentioning of a mini M & G.

I knew I going a bit overboard, but did not do this in the spirit of discouraging him or being unfriendly. It just seems to me that nearly the whole country HAS gone sue crazy, and it might be prudent to be cautious. The idea of security cameras is not for surveillance in real time, but to protect oneself from fraudulent claims after the fact.
It's unfortunate indeed, but everyone here, or anywhere else, may be just the one to bring disaster. As per the BSofA : be prepared. Do not intend to cast disparaging light on the members here, but how well do we really know each other ? Thanx for your comments, you have given me a wakeup call on my cynicism that I guess I may need to think over ( again ).

If someone is negligent then lawsuit can proceed. If no one is negligent it’s really hard to sue anyone. Cameras can help or hinder you. Can be used against you too. I been through several legal situations. A lot of things never get pursued or get thrown out too. The BSA…. The Catholic Churches… Mormon Churches the list is Long. What’s bogus is most of it was covered up and lied about to protect the big huge bank accounts which is totally wrong if you ask me. The management of these organizations should of dealt with it then not lied about it. If you think what we have been told about it is all of it well that’s bogus.

Same with the chemical companies now. It’s not Sue happy that caused it. It’s greed on the companies part. That’s why they have to pay. If it wasn’t true it would be sue happy amd no one would be getting settlements. Wrong doing and negligence has to be proven.

Read your auto insurance policy. Read a contractors bond in construction. They know darn good and well when they made deadly chemicals and lied about it let alone dumped in rivers etc.

It’s not greed on who was done wrong it’s greed on the companies and organizations part that lied to everyone covering it all up.

Having insurance for an event is not a bad thing. If something bad happens that was not the owners doing at least they don’t lose their livelihood over the greed of sue happy types.

Nutz, I don't think you need to work on your cynicism at all. Unfortunately you most likely hit the truth nail square on the head. Just that it is so sad that what you mention is how the country has gotten. Can't blame it on either political party nor do i want to go there, it just boils down to greed and sometimes jealousy of what another has is my take on it.

Your other good point is how well do we know each other? When we read the fishing get togethers that mostly Saw 1 talks about, one can only hope that we all can get together for the bond that keeps this site going. " FISHING "

I have only been aware of one get together by some fishers that the personalities didn't match the words that are typed when one is getting to know another on here. Different personalities rear their heads and often because of liquid intake.

But for the most part from personal emails and texting i have gotten to know a lot of folks on here and their personal lives to the point that i would welcome 99% into my home. That other 1% i would share a courteous conversation with them and judge not.

Myself included on the size of boat. I go in the Vermillion bay, catch reds, specs and cast net for shrimp or crabs. I fish the basin a lot, but the water has to be so right, to catch hundreds in a day. (crappie) Bass most often, catch a nice mess of them. Franklin is not that far away from me. I live in Duson.
