Woohoo. In September I picked a bunch of beautiful plums. I decided to try my hand at making wine. I like plum wine. Yesterday I bottled it. Man is it ever tasty.

Sounds like an experiment gone right. Did you use the five gallon bucket method or something else?

Looks good 😁 I made some white grape and regular grape from Kroger's 100% grape juice. Watched the old boy on YouTube
(doing it cheap) is what his sight is called. I used one cup of sugar instead of a cup and a half that way it wasn't too sweet

Went shopping at the hardware store: bucket, lid, clear tubing. All set to make wine.

My dad made beer when I was about 12. He bottled it. In just a few days it was exploding in the basement, bottled too soon. Lol. He never had permission to make beer again.

My great grandfather always made and had gallons of plum whine. It was a family recipe from the old country (Slovenia). He said it cured everything. Got a cold, plum whine. Headache, plum whine. Soar throat, plum whine. Went on like that forever. All that said the man was amazingly fit and healthy his entire 96 years on this earth.

My dad used to make his own wine. Grape, dandelion, elderberry. Never plum that I knew of. What we didn't drink he would give away as gifts. That and his maple syrup. My dad was a pretty popular guy.

If you add sugar it fermented into alcohol. Two Bi products of fermentation is alcohol and Co2. More sugar means more alcohol.

I made lots of home brew. I read lots about the whole concept of mead beer wine liquor etc.

It’s a lot of fun. Bottles explode from to much sugar. Corn sugar is the proper sugar. I ended up kegging my brew. Much simpler than all the sanitation of bottles capping etc. artificial carbonation is another advantage of kegs.

We use to take 2 liter Coke bottles of dark home brew to public places and everyone else thought we had soda pop.

Marine Patrol on boat … bowling alley etc. fishing hole.

Yes sir. I made moonshine about 8 yrs ago...I drink slowly, lol, I have part of qt left. 2 gallons of plum finished and another batch is bubbling. Next I want to make prickly pear. I have 1.5 gal of prickly pear juice in the freezer. I will be gifting alot to family this Christmas.
On a side note I have not heard anybody use larrupin since my MIL died a few years ago. Made me smile. I had to double check your location and just as I thought..Texan!

I remember when it was glass too. Some people made them into terrariums.
