So I’m not too sure, but I believe right now or soon is the time to start using a popping cork with some live or (my favorite) voodoo shrimps. So what is a good Rod and reel for popping corks?

I would opt for a 7-6 to 8-0 graphite medium action popping rod if I was wading, with a salt water safe 200 series bait caster. If I was fishing from a boat I would use a 7-0 or 7-3 medium action popping rod with a saltwater safe 100 series reel. A trout has a soft mouth and a heavier action rod could very easily tear the hook out. That is why I would use the medium action. It is still strong enough to hook set a redfish too.
