Wow y'all! I am glad to be back. Each of you: Saw, Rapala, Spirit, e.pa.al, plum, FF, dbed, Flytier, Betts, Grizzly, Oz and BB have a special place in my heart. Retirement has been a blast. Working on my farm, selling eggs and chicks, fishing as long and as much as I want to, staying up late then catching a nap later. Spending time with my grandson, volunteering to help mentor a University classroom of 5th graders for gardening, nature, chicken life cycles. I tend to forget how old I am and how much information I can and do pass forward to a new generation. Planning to go on a 10 day mission trip back to Peru for the summer of 2022. Today will be spent in an outdoor garden classroom with my 5th graders. Yeehaw!

How exciting WH. I'm sure it will give you great joy goin on the mission trip. It's very rewarding . Have you been on any before?
Hope you take lots of pics. What's the goal to your trip? I went on one a few years ago and we were helping finish building their church and repairing several homes. It was in Az. on the Navaho rez. northeast of Flagstaff.
Hope you can fish while you're down there too. How long you gonna be gone?

I know. I talked to a man about my age. He had same opinion as I do. Why not get it. We got to talking about mask n he's a a group of many including me. Wear a mask has helped with allergies. We both feel fine this morning. I've always believed we all have a time stamp on us. I had a guy say if that's true what about people that commit suicide. I said it was their time. Look how many try n fail. As you already know my mind works in mysterious ways ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. Enjoy the day

Some never had a good sense of time.

It was great. 40 SMART kiddos. They ask insightful questions. Went over construction of keyhole gardens with built in composting. Answered questions about propagation. Kids all brought canned food for our community garden free food cabinet. Educated them on how the homeless population uses the garden...sleeping on the benches of the gazebo, sleeping on the ground on the farthest side of the garden, away from any roads, told them how this population has no can openers and how we need to provide food in poptop cans. Planning what to plant in the row garden this coming spring. Very busy day.

I went to Peru 2yrs ago. We painted the church inside and out. Planted vegetable gardens at multiple churches for community picking. Conducted Sunday school activities for kids and a women's class. The avocados were huge. For the women's gathering we made guacamole and chips. They had never had guacamole. I saw people fishing in the Pacific below the equator in between surfers! We spend 2 weeks there.

An alternative to pop-top cans could be one of these military-style can openers that fit in your pocket or on
a key-chain - WALMART !

They're not expensive, but maybe someone in your support group
could donate a few to the needy ?

P-38. I see huge generic types at some stores now. I always had the old original ones from dad the FED. They are a can opener.. a slotted screwdriverโ€ฆ and the corner can be used as a Phillips screwdriver too.
