Thanks wulfy and plumbob! Good way to start the day.
For me the only thing that would have made it better would have been if I could have done it from the banks of the Big Hole🎣😃 Thanks bric.

Aww the Big Hole, only fished it couple times just incidentally when passing through. The drought hit it hard this year I heard. I wanna go there for a grayling.

Between Melrose and Dillon there's a road that goes into Browns Lake. Last time there many moons ago the rancher had the access road locked but was real pleasant and let us thru. A one mile walk in from Browns to Lake Agnes. Used to be a very good grayling lake. Grayling in the river above Wise River, also very good cutthroat water. Right now from Maidenrock fishing access to Melrose the Browns should be spawning, Bitch Creek Special drifted from the riffles into the head of the holes just killer. Up Canyon Creek you can watch the mountain goats on the cliffs and knock the stuffing out of the brookies in the creek. Hope you get to go.

You're very welcome Bric. If you go, about a quarter mile below the parking area at Maidenrock the river splits into three channels, as you face downstream the channel to the right which is your side of the river is the smallest of the three but also holds the most fish and the biggest ones.

Ok brother thanks again. I will have to save this post. Probably won’t make it this year. I know fall fishing is great, but I tend to get focused on hunting now.
I have caught grayling in lakes before but not in a stream. Think the Big Hole is the last stream in Montana that holds grayling.
