What are the catfish biting? Went to Murray Locke and Damn (hydro-plant side)last night & didn't get a bite. Cut shad was bait.
Fish upper end of lake maumelle with chicken liver near the creek channel.

Chicken in Koolaid ( strawberry) or their livers with silly string tied to hook. Should catch a bunch hour or two after sun is all the way down. If water flows into the reservoir anywhere use it to your advantage. Fish somewhere that the water moving the scent into the place will bring fish to you. Don’t worry about depth once sun is down they will go in shallow water.

Catfish bite very different in different places. Sorry I can’t be of much help as all of my catfishing has been in Oregon , Washington, Idaho and Montana. I can tell you they all act different from each other depending on where I caught them. My best luck in the places I DID fish was slow water and on the bottom. Used lots of different baits from really smelly to stuff I’d almost eat myself. Some like rotten, some like fresh, some like sour, some like sweet. It just depends on the time of year it seems like to me. I’d take an arsenal of different baits and try each one till something hit. Good luck and hopefully we’ll see some pictures soon👍

Hey gm,
The first thing I would suggest is that you sign up for AGFC app and sign up for the weekly newsletter and reports. Great info for all regions in Arkansas and a lot of tips. Then you should talk to the local guys at your bait shop and those fishing on shore.
Be friendly and buy some product from the shop to show your appreciation and maybe share a beer or soft drink with fellow fisherman on site.
Good luck and remember, we love pics.
