Hey there from Atlanta. My Pop and I used to do a lot of river and lake fishing in Louisiana when I was a kid, but I haven't done much angling as an adult. I recently got myself a kayak and am back on the water. I'd love to reverse my lost lure to caught fish ratio, but that's gonna take some practice.

I've not tried Lanier yet. Some of the larger lakes are rough for kayakers. How's the bank fishing there?

Welcome crog, the lost lures are to be considered sacrifices to the fishing Gods 😉. You may want to scout ahead in your kayak (if possible) to see what you may be casting into, continue on to another spot you are familiar with and return to the first spot later? Fish spook, but will return after they settle down. Good luck and I hope one of the big girls tows you around for a while!

Don't feel lonely with that problem, it's universal within the angling world. Just part of the sport. Lure knocker can sometimes help. with recovery.
