Time For Reflection

In the year 1967 I was 13 years old and made my first trip to the Outer Banks of NC. In those days no matter which town you were heading to, it was referred to as Nags Head. It was hot and late August, our family traveled in two cars, my older brother that I looked up to so strongly was driving his car. In my eye, he was the coolest guy in the world and I wanted to be just like him. This was the year I wanted to get up with the girls.
The girls were very attracted to brother Larry and I asked him for some tips being in my rookie season. He smiled and spoke softly, you have to pick you out a nice potato and slip it in your swim trunks. Of course that puzzled me but I heeded his advice. The next day, I sported some sunglasses, my tight and fraying cut off jeans, plus a half tee shirt worn to protect when wearing football shoulder pads. I thought it would impress the girls and of course along with my hidden secret spud. So, the next day....
Well, things got weird. I notice some finger pointing and outright laughter. I pressed on and seeing Larry down the beach a little from me. He was running towards me rapidly and whispered in my ear..Oh no little brother, the potato is supposed to go in the front !

Reminds me of something my younger brother that always wanted attention.

Best Little Whorehouse In Texas was on TV one evening with Burt and Dolly. In that Movie Burt put a large pair of rolled up socks in his pants for a public thing.

My younger brother did it the next day at school and got sent to the Principals Office. I still laugh about it.

Oh Jeremy, you got me rolling ! I recall the movie but have forgotten that scene. That must of been a very awkward time in the office for your brother. I hope he used tube socks.

Well we all know good ol Burt who could blame him for chasing the hotties he did. I am sure it was BIG socks.

May parents were not happy but actually without him (brother) in their presence thought it was darn FUNNY.
