Salmon run dwindling..
But there’s still fish to be caught…. 3 people in boat, limited in just under 2 hrs. Mine 22lb wild buck, was looking forward to more eggs to cure. Late in season really red colored but surprisingly still orange flesh. Agaln in a.m.

Beautiful Salmon Shutup, nice job! Good luck on the next trip.
Nice picture and well worth getting out of bed
Way to go out there! Nicely done! Glad that your guys are still catching them in the open waters! Thanks for the photo...looks like a gorgeous day to be out in the boat!
Well no pics, fish count down from about 8k a day, run average, to 2k day before yesterday to 1k yesterday. Figure it takes them a day or two to reach here from dam where they go through counters window into the fish ladders. Usually don’t go after salmon until count has reached 2k or bother at end of run after below 2k. We went anyway maybe a dozen boats where normally 75 during run. Friend got one 25” salmon drifting eggs but the few fish caught were mostly trollers. I spent good part of morning fighting an ~8ft sturgeon that picked up my eggs, wasn’t stopping him much on salmon pole. Still a nice morning

Nice. That’s a dandy. I can count on fish getting to my front yard in about two weeks when that’s happening down there. 👍

You got it👍. They come up the little salmon to the hatchery. The little salmon is about the size of Herman Creek. Like about the 1/3 the size of the Klickitat up river 5 miles from Lyle. We can see the fish headed for the hatchery. The rest of them we kinda leave alone in the Big Salmon. They’re headed for Chalis Idaho and that’s another 100 miles up river from us.

Are you seeing any shiny ones down there still. I think the darker ones will be dropping off into another river before they get up here. We don’t see many dark red ones up this way but they’re heading to spawn with those big heads and crooked jaws like that. Still pretty firm, nice looking meat in em when they get here. The only problem is it’s combat fishing big time but I have a buddy that lives right on Rapid River below the hatchery. The salmon don’t go above Rapid River on the little salmon. They’re all headed for the hatchery there. I can fish from his deck and nobody is there but me and him usually. 👍

Thanks rhino and no catfish not seeing any bright, but we’re fishing near bottom, the ones more likely to hit something in front of their face I think, maybe the mid-upper range fish in the rest of the 40/50 ft of water are zooming thru on their way to you and “upriver brights” heading your way. Whenever we happen to get one someone will comment”that one was headed to Idaho” with the low count and dark fish I may be done
Great catching Shut !! Nice looking Salmon, thanks for the pics and update.
