Apple Watch

Seriously considering getting a "smart watch". Wife has one, not an apple, she uses it for monitoring her pulse, blood pressure, does all sorts of chit. The new Apple series 6 does blood oxygen levels, blood pressure, even provides a ekg if you want.

Anybody got one? Worth the investment? Used to work with a guy who had one when they kinda first came out, he said he didn't know how he ever got along without it. Kinda like my leatherman.

I've had one for about 3 years now. I stopped wearing it a few months ago for what some might consider a strange reason. Instead of being a useful tool to track my exercise I had become a slave to it. I felt like I just "had to" complete all of the exercise chores (close the rings) each day or I was a failure. Weird, I know. So I took it off and rarely wear it now. Overall I would say that they are great devices if you don't let them run your life.

Do they tie fishing knots??So don’t need glasses and patience to get a knot tied with these older eyes.

Haven't found one that will do that. Use bigger line. It's what I do.

Spirit and Jeremy: I am watching the ND/Cincy game waiting for my son to come tie an arbor knot. Can't tie that 20 pound test Power Pro on the spool. Time marches on!

I'm watching too. 3rd period just started. Not looking good for the Irish at the moment. They look a little stunned. Hey, this aint the badgers or the boilermakers.

The smart watch that I have is a Garmin. It has a lot of features but usually only use a few of them. When I run (more accurately shuffle) it keeps track of my heart rate and I can keep it in a safe zone. It keeps me motivated to get my steps in everyday, but agree with PapaJ that the you can become obsessed with the numbers. If I don't get my required number of steps in everyday and at a pace that I think is good, I feel bad about it. Wouldn't be so bad if I was younger, but being older, I find myself pushing to get steps in and constantly trying to improve my shuffle times, which has led to some overuse injuries. I am trying to find a balance of keeping in shape and remaining injury free, and I am definitely still a work in progress. Overall though, I really like what the smart watches can do.
