TM problem?

Hello
My Minn Kota TM with iPilot remote has started having problems. It can go from a speed of 1 to 10 and it can steer easily left or right. But when moving, it will not turn by pedal or remote if the speed is above 6 - but will turn easily if I stop the prop from running.

Any idea why this fault is happening?

All inputs appreciated ☹️

Not looking at it can only guess but picturing the higher thrust putting bind on shaft. Try lubing and checking for wear and burrs

Hey Red, my Powerdrive TM, gets hard to deploy once and a while. Minn Kota suggests waxing the shaft with Pledge furniture polish, but I just spray a little spritz of WD-40 between the shaft and the steering drive unit. It helps with my problem, maybe it will help with yours.

It takes more amps to turn at a higher speed, make sure your battery or batteries are fully charged and takes a load.

Thanks, Harris.
I’m pretty sure that it was charged but how would I test that it can take a load?

If you don't have a load tester, take it to a parts house. Most will not charge you for testing the load of your battery. Might want to call to make sure you don't drive there, only to find they charge!
